Anyone seeking to get away from daily routine will love themed hotels. They offer, if just for some days, the possibility to live in a completely different world.
We have listed some of the most original ones in Spain.

This is probably one of the most remarkable hotels in our list, as we don’t know if it’s actually a hotel or a setting for a film. The stay includes a horror night experience. Guests live an experience where fear, terror, intrigue, tension, adventure, humor and special effects are intertwined. The aim of this macabre screenplay: make guests tremble with fear.
The setting: a rural house in the province of Toledo, not far from Madrid. Its maximum capacity is 25 people. Before they travel, guests receive a letter, or an e-mail, where they are told about the clothes they should wear and a warning: no electronic devices are allowed.
The show goes for 13 hours but guests have time, between acts, to enjoy dinner and relax in their rooms with scary decorations.
As Astoria 7, this hotel has film decorations too. Each room is named after, and decorated accordingly, a famous film: All About My Mother, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, 007 movies, Romeo and Juliet, Amélie, etc.
It’s located in Ribadeo, Lugo, in the Northwestern region of Galicia, and it will make guests live a unique experience depending on the room they choose for their stay.

Hotels must make their best to convey a feeling of exclusivity and, in this sense, themed hotels make it possible. For a few days, guests can live in a different world, and there is nothing as exclusive as that.Hoy vamos a hablar de las peculiaridades de los hoteles temáticos. Los huéspedes que deciden alojarse en este tipo de hoteles logran desconectar más debido a que, por unos días, creen vivir en un mundo totalmente diferente al habitual. Esta tipología de establecimiento está muy alineado con lo que hoy llamamos turismo de experiencias, ya que las instalaciones, el servicio, la indumentaria del personal e incluso la comida giran alrededor de un tema o un motivo. Los motivos o temas que representen al hotel pueden ser muy variados: desde simular mundos lejanos y fantásticos hasta ambientarlos en base a alguna película o artista.
Hemos preparado un listado de algunos hoteles temáticos que nos han llamado la atención. Todos ellos están situamdos en nuestro país. Veamos a continuación lo que hemos encontrado:
Bajo el lema de ‘¿Qué estrella le acompañará esta noche?’ nos encontramos con un hotel dedicado al cine donde cada habitación hace referencia a un actor o actriz de prestigio. No solo las habitaciones están decoradas. La sala de estar, el hall y la cafetería están decoradas con fotografías de actores y actrices y de conocidas citas cinéfilas.
El hotel está situado en San Sebastián y consigue que el huésped se sienta parte del rodaje de una película. En su cuenta de Twitter van informando de las películas que van proyectando en el mismo hotel.
Este hotel pertenece a la cadena hotelera Gran Isla y está situado cerca de la playa de Santa Ponsa, en Mallorca. Está especialmente diseñado para familias e invita a sus huéspedes a verse inmersos en un mundo de piratas y lleno de aventuras de las que pueden disfrutar todos los miembros de la familia. Múltiples atracciones componen este complejo que invita al huésped a que viva, por unos días, como un auténtico pirata.
En el caso de este hotel, lo que más llama nuestra atención son sus siete rincones. Estos siete rincones equivalen a las siete habitaciones que componen el hotel. Cada una de ellas representa un país. Cada rincón recrea ambientes propios de París, Nueva York, Tokio, Estocolmo, Bali, Siena y Nairobi.
El hotel está situado en Santander y parece estar muy enfocado a parejas. Alojarse en él puede ser una forma de viajar al extranjero sin salir de tu país.
Se trata de un hotel situado en Ibi, Alicante, que combina muy bien el diseño y la comodidad. Sin duda, se trata de un hotel familiar donde los que más disfrutan son los niños. Las habitaciones están dedicadas a los juguetes de diversas épocas. Destacamos algunas habitaciones como las dedicadas a juguetes y personajes de ficción como Doraemon, los Reyes Magos o los muñecos de Playmobil.
Sin duda se trata de un hotel divertido y original que, además, a su alrededor se puede encontrar oferta complementaria muy diversa y compatible con el target del hotel: visitas a fábricas de juguetes, visitas a la granja, museos, parques infantiles temáticos, etc.
Éste es el único hotel de España cuya temática gira en torno al juguete. Ofrece una serie de servicios que lo hacen singular tanto para los adultos como para los niños.
El hotel botánico es un hotel de lujo situado en Tenerife. Se encuentra ubicado muy cerca del conocido Jardín Botánico del Valle de la Orotava y en honor al mismo fue creado. Este hotel cuenta con hermosos jardines y un Oriental Spa Garden que traslada al huésped al sur asiático.
Sus 252 habitaciones están decoradas con materiales orientales, piezas de arte únicas y antigüedades. Se caracteriza por su elegancia y su excelencia en servicios.
Posiblemente, éste sea uno de los «hoteles» más llamativos de todos los que hemos comentado hasta el momento. De hecho, no sabemos si llamarlo hotel o espectáculo. La experiencia que se ofrece en este caso consiste en vivir una noche de terror. Los mismos asistentes experimentan una trama o un guión teatral en el que se mezcla miedo, terror, suspense, tensión, aventura, humor y efectos especiales.
Esta casa rural está ubicada en la provincia de Toledo, tiene una capacidad máxima de 25 personas y el mayor objetivo es que el visitante pase miedo. Éste recibe una carta, antes de acudir al espectáculo, donde se le informa de la indumentaria que debe llevar y de la prohibición rotunda de llevar aparatos electrónicos encima.
Al caer el sol, el espectáculo termina y el huésped se puede retirar a las habitaciones, decoradas, como era de esperar, de forma terrorífica.
Aquí os presentamos otro hotel temático basado en el séptimo arte, como el caso del Astoria 7. En este hotel, cada habitación lleva por nombre el título de una película y bajo el mismo concepto está decorada cada habitación. Algunas de las habitaciones que han ido surgiendo son: ‘Todo sobre mi madre’, ‘Desayuno con diamantes’, ‘007’, ‘Romeo y Julieta’, ‘Amélie’, etc. …
Este hotel está situado en la provincia de Lugo y consigue que el huésped viva una experiencia única y diferente según la habitación en la que se aloje.
Con estos ejemplos no queremos más que reforzar la idea de lo importantes que se están volviendo las experiencias. Los hoteles deben ser capaces de transmitir sensaciones únicas y diferentes. Los hoteles temáticos permiten que eso ocurra, invitando al huésped a sentir que se encuentra en un mundo totalmente diferente al habitual.
